ZAGREB, Nov 27 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament House of Counties,
on Wednesday supported a bill dealing with conflict of personal and
public interests in public office, proposed by parliamentarian
Vladimir Seks.
The bill defines who are state officials, limiting the number
and kind of functions that can be performed by one person
simultaneously, and envisages that officials should inform the
Parliament President about their income scale.
The House of Counties also discussed a bill on putting on
record the income scale of public officials in the Republic of
Croatia. It was proposed by parliamentarian Axel Luttenberger who
said that his bill was similar to Seks's, but that the bill of Seks
was narrower since it "excludes and grants amnesty to current
officials."
After concluding the debate, the Upper House adjourned the
session on Wednesday evening. The House President Katica Ivanisevic
said it would be resumed, if necessary, the next week (depending on
the work of the House of Representatives).
Six issues, out of 21 on the session's agenda, are yet to be
discussed by Upper House deputies.
