SARAJEVO, Nov 27 (Hina) - The office of Bosnian Presidency
President Alija Izetbegovic, on Wednesday strongly condemned
yesterday's attack on the international High Representative's
deputy, Michael Steiner.
The office issued a statement saying that "yesterday's attack
deserves to be most strongly condemned, and this incident is
aggravated by the fact that the attack was aimed against a man who
has not only sincerely advocated solutions of problems but also
made personal efforts to settle them."
"The revolt of refugees is understandable, but physical abuse
and destruction cannot be justified in any way," the statement
said.
It noted that organizers of the protest rally, staged in the
Sarajevo downtown on Tuesday, failed to take care of behaviour of
people they called to participate in the rally, and that's why the
responsibility lay with the organizers.
"Big words and playing on people's emotions can resolve
nothing. On the contrary, they can aggravate the settlement of
burdensome and complex problems," the statement said at the end.
