On that day, says the editorial in today's issue of the
Sarajevo daily 'Oslobodjenje', 'political and state individuality
of Bosnia-Herzegovina, which had been annulled several times
through history, was renewed'.
Bosnian President Alija Izetbegovic today sent his best wishes
to all Bosnian citizens, stressing that the Statehood day was 'a
great holiday for all those who in their hears carry the idea of
Bosnia-Herzegovina as a free and democratic state'.
In the past few years, that idea had been severely attacked
and the price of its defence was endlessly high, Izetbegovic said.
It was time for everyone to ask himself what he had done to make
Bosnia-Herzegovina stronger, better and suitable for all its
citizens, he added.
