CROATIA BACKS FURTHER IMPLEMENTATION OF DAYTON PEACE ACCORDS

PARIS, Nov 13 (Hina) - Croatia's delegation, led by Foreign Minister Mate Granic, arrived in Paris on Wednesday evening to participate in the Paris conference on consolidation of peace in Bosnia-Herzegovina, that will begin on Thursday. Croatia, as one of the countries that signed the Dayton peace accords, fully supports and cooperate in the implementation of the accords, Granic said ahead of the conference. He stressed that the (Croat-Moslem) Federation of Bosnia- Herzegovina had managed to solve important problems, and confirmed his statement by the fact that Bosnia's Croat and Moslem sides arrived at the Paris conference with joint proposals. Croatian Foreign Minister said his country backed international efforts aimed at strengthening good neighbouring relations among Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia and the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SRJ), and stressed that in those relations Croatia did not accept conditionality and associations but it wanted to promote cooperation. Besides Granic, assistant to the foreign minister Hidajet Biscevic, Croatia's ambassador to France Smiljan Simac and the foreign minister's cabinet chief Zoran Bosnjak are included in Croatia's delegation. The steering committee of the council for peace implementation in Bosnia, on Wednesday convened a session behind the closed doors, to discuss a draft resolution on the consolidation of peace in Bosnia. The draft resolution will be presented at Thursday's plenary session of the Paris conference on Bosnia. The declaration is expected to give a political framework for a two-year period of consolidation of peace process in Bosnia. On the grounds of that political framework, the London conference, which is scheduled for December 4 and 5, will make an operational plan for the international community's activities in Bosnia in next six months. The Paris conference will determine civilian aspects of the consolidation of the peace process, whereas the NATO will decide on future military aspects of the international engagement in Bosnia, according to Paris conference's participants.
