IFOR had intensified patrols and NATO forces were conducting a
special investigation of last week's destruction of refugees'
houses near the Serb-controlled Prijedor and the Croat-controlled
Drvar.
IFOR chief commander, Admiral Joseph Lopez had already talked
to the Serb member of the Bosnian Presidency, Momcilo Krajisnik,
and was expected to meet the other two Presidency members, Kresimir
Zubak and Alija Izetbegovic, later during the day, Boudreau said.
Admiral Lopez was worried about bomb attacks and constant
provocations which were aimed at intimidating people and sowing
fear and hatred, Boudreau said. He recalled that the incidents were
occurring on both sides of the inter-entity border, in villages
which were once inhabited by Bosniac Muslims and Serbs.
Boudreau also stressed that the incidents were part of an
organised campaign aimed at restricting or preventing the return of
refugees.
