ZAGREB, Oct 25 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica
Kostovic on Friday met the newly-appointed chief of the EU
Monitoring Mission in Zagreb, Klaus Kramer, for talks on
difficulties in the reintegration of Serb-held eastern Croatia.
"We have discussed the process of return (of refugees),
demands by local Serbs and limits withing which we can meet those
demands," Kostovic told reporters after the meeting.
Kostovic added that the talks also focused on the holding of
elections in the UN-administered Danube river area.
Kramer, who had already held this office two years ago, said
that the process of return should proceed in the best possible
way and that security should be guaranteed to all returning
refugees and people living in the area.
Kramer expressed hope that a large number of Croatian
refugees would return to their prewar homes as soon as possible
and that local Serbs would again become Croatian citizens and
live in peace with their neighours.
