SARAJEVO, Oct 18 (Hina) - International police force spokesman
Patrick Swenson told Friday's news conference in Sarajevo that he
condemned Thursday's stoning of a bus carrying Moslems near Bivolje
Brdo, south of Mostar.
The incident was also condemned by UNHCR spokesman Mans Nyberg
in Sarajevo on Friday. #L#
Nyberg said that the UNHCR was concerned about a letter it
had received from the Mayor of Stolac, 20 kilometres south east of
Mostar, which said that safety could not be ensured for Bosniacs
who had announced to visit their homes in Stolac during the
weekend, in line with the Dayton accords.
Recalling the recent case of exile of a Bosniac family from
the western part of Mostar and preventing Serbs to visit their
homes in Drvar, western Bosnia, Nyberg said that they were
troubling incidents which warned that there was a hard-line current
present on the Croat side, which wanted to prevent the freedom of
movement and return of refugees, members of national minority
groups.
