$ WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM VINKOVCI/LIPOVAC, 11 (Hina) - Members of the Croatian Water Management managing board on Friday met in Vinkovci to discuss the construction of a regional water supply system in eastern Slavonia. The water supply system, which includes parts of Slavonski Brod and Osijek Counties and the whole of Vukovar County, is 380 km long. The construction of the system will cost 320 million kunas. The World Bank and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development have so far provided 79 million kunas.
SLAVONIA $ WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM VINKOVCI/LIPOVAC, 11 (Hina) - Members of the Croatian Water Management managing board on Friday met in Vinkovci to discuss the construction of a regional water supply system in eastern Slavonia. The water supply system, which includes parts of Slavonski Brod and Osijek Counties and the whole of Vukovar County, is 380 km long. The construction of the system will cost 320 million kunas. The World Bank and the Croatian Bank for Reconstruction and Development have so far provided 79 million kunas. #L# After the meeting, which was also attended by Croatian Water Management Director Stjepan Sturlan, representatives of Vinkovci water management companies and Vukovar County representatives, Croatian officials visited Lipovac, Apsevci and Podgradje, villages included in a reconstruction pilot-program. The Croatian delegation was escorted by the Jordanian UNTAES battalion civil police. During the visit to the three villages, Croatian license plates had to be removed from the bus carrying the Croatian delegation. The first phase in the mine removal process in Podgradje and Apsevci should be completed next week, while the removal of mines in Lipovci is to be completed in a month. The reconstruction of houses in Lipovci, Podgradje and Apsevci is proceeding as planned and some hundred families will be able to return to their homes by Christmas. (hina) rm 111825 MET oct 96
