ZAGREB, 19 Sept (Hina) - Representatives of the Croatian government
and Croatian public corporations met on Thursday with Serb
representatives from the U.N. administered Croatian Danubian area.
The talks, held in Zagreb, focused on the establishment of public
corporations in the Danubian area.
The meeting was also attended by the head of the Office for
the establishment of Croatian authority in eastern Slavonia, Ivica
Vrkic, and UNTAES representatives.
The head of the Government Coordination of Public
Corporations, Ivan Majdak, stated after the meeting that the two
sides had agreed that two representatives from each of the public
corporations - Croatian Roads, Croatian Railways, Croatian Electric
Power Industry and Croatian Post and Telecommunications - make a
project on the establishment, financing and work of those public
companies in the Croatian Danubian area.
Representative of local Serbs, Vojislav Stanimirovic, said
that it had been agreed that the establishment of railway and road
traffic be put on a list of priorities. Railway and road
connections between Croatia and Yugoslavia should be re-established
soon, Stanimirovic said.
