ZAGREB, Oct 2 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's House of
Representatives on Wednesday voted on 24 items on the agenda that
had been discussed in the last two weeks.
Parliament unanimously passed the Property Law, marking a
definitive break with socially-owned property from the Communist
era and adjusting the Croatian legal system to the European.
With a majority of the vote, Parliament also adopted the
Business Premises Leasing Law which stipulates that business
premises owned by the state and legal entities should be leased by
a public competition. Priority would be given to disabled war
veterans and other war victims if they meet competition
requirements.
The lower house passed laws ratifying bilateral agreements on
the consolidation of payment of the foreign debt to Paris Club
member states, as well as a law by which Croatia regulates its
obligations towards the London Club of commercial banks.
