NEW YORK, Sept 25 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic
discussed Croatia's accession to the Council of Europe with the
foreign ministers of Denmark, Austria and Luxemburg in New York on
Wednesday.
"All three ministers support Croatia's accession to the
Council of Europe," Granic said after separate meetings with
Denmark's Niels Helveg Peterson, Austria's Wolfgang Schuessel and
Luxembourg's Jacques Poos.
"As things stand now, Croatia will surely be admitted to the
Council of Europe - we have practically reached the stage of
discussing the signing date," Granic said.
The foreign ministers of the European Union discussed
Croatia's accession at a working brunch this morning. No objections
to Croatia's admission were raised.
Granic and the three ministers also discussed the UNTAES
mandate. All three supported Croatia's view that the mandate should
be as brief as possible, according to Granic.
