ZAGREB, June 20 (Hina) - Representatives of the Croatian villages
of Mondimitar, Kruc and Stifilic and Croats from the Italian Molise
region, who are visiting Croatia to mark the "Molise Croats Week"
in Zagreb under the sponsorship of Croatian President Franjo
Tudjman, on Thursday visited the Croatian Ministry of Culture where
they were received by Culture Minister Bozo Biskupic.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Culture, talks
were held on topics of importance to the Croatian minority in Italy
and cultural cooperation between Croatia and Italy.
Representatives of the Molise Croats expressed a desire to
cooperate with some Croatian municipalities, towns and counties,
and stressed the strong support the Molise region gave them in
their work.
Biskupic said he was satisfied with the visit of the
representatives of the Molise Croats and the Molise region to the
Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Croatia and supported the
endeavours of Croats in Italy to preserve their cultural identity.
At the end of the meeting, Biskupic presented the
representatives of the Molise Croats with some of the latest books
published in Croatia, the statement concluded.
