Accompanying Tudjman were Croatian Foreign Minister Mate
Granic, Defense Minister Gojko Susak, Croatian army Chief-of-Staff
Zvonimir Cervenko and others.
Tudjman was welcomed at the Izmir airport by governor Burhan
Ozstatura, Mayor Kutlu Aktas and commander of the garrison Ikizoglu
Necati.
Izmir governor prepared a festive lunch in honour of President
Tudjman.
Tudjman is to spend his afternoon in Izmir, in the area of the
near-by the ancient town of Eses.
He is to visit the town's museum and antique excavations, as
well as the Basilica of St. John and the Virgin Mary's shrine.
