The Croatian delegation has submitted this morning its own
'paper' with compromises for all disputable issues of an agreement
on arms limitation which is to be adopted. According to the Dayton
peace agreement, the deadline for the adoption of the agreement is
today, 6 June, Ambassador Bekic said.
The Croatian 'package of solutions for all disputable issues'
was estimated as very good by Ambassador Vigleik Eide, who is
chairing the session, and Contact group representatives. Their
estimation was supported by the Yugoslav delegation as well,
Ambassador Bekic said.
The Bosnian delegation, and particularly the Bosnian Serb
representatives showed dissatisfaction. The Bosnian Serb
representatives said the paper should be refused as the negotiation
basis.
A break has been made so that the parties may hold
consultations.
The Croatian delegation, which is headed by Deputy Foreign
Minister Ivan Simonovic, voiced moderate optimism as regards the
adoption of the final agreement which should happen this afternoon
or in the evening.
According to the Dayton agreement, the agreement on arms
limitation should be signed on 11 June in Oslo.
