'Our visit to Russia is very important because it is the first
working visit of a Croatian premier to the Russian Federation. We
want to discuss with our Russian colleagues various issues -
ranging from political to economic ones', Matesa said, stressing
that the talks would focus on economy.
'We have many interests in common - from the continuation of
the construction of the Adriatic oil pipeline to investments into
Croatia and Russia and to the intensification of trade relations',
Matesa added, stressing that he expected 'some concrete agreements
with Russia'.
'We will also open the issue of former Yugoslavia's debt which
is a very important financial issue for Croatia. The problem could
be solved through agreement with Russia', the Croatian premier
concluded.
