VINKOVCI, May 6 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Monday visited the Vinkovci-based Vukovar County.
Granic held talks with heads and mayors of the occupied
municipalities and towns of the County.
He stressed that Croatia's basic goal were territorial
integrity and good relations with countries in the region. #L#
Granic praised the work of the Temporary Administrator in
easter Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem, General Jacques Klein,
and stressed that Croatia had a "highly motivated and professional
temporary administrator. Belgrade also wishes for the situation to
be resolved in a peaceful manner. This is why tomorrow's opening of
the Zagreb-Belgrade highway is an important step."
Granic also answered many questions from heads and mayors of
occupied municipalities and towns, and stressed that oil wells in
Dzeletovci were not functioning any more and that the UNTAES, as
General Klein said, would take over and protect the oil wells.
