BOSNIAN FEDERATION HAS REACHED A STALEMATE

SARAJEVO, May 2 (Hina) - A Croatian parliamentary delegation led by the Vice-President of the Parliament, Vladimir Seks, met senior Bosnian officials on Thursday in Sarajevo to discuss the implementation of the Dayton Agreements, the situation in the Croat-Moslem Federation and the cooperation between the Croatian Parliament and the Parliaments of the Federation and Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina. "The implementation of the Dayton Agreements is liable to encounter many difficulties in the pre-election period," Federation President Kresimir Zubak told his guests, adding that he had suggested that the Council for Croatian-Bosnian Cooperation should convene as soon as possible. The session should discuss the current relations between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina as well as relations within the Federation, and suggest solutions to the current problems. "We gather that the Federation has reached a stalemate because the federal partner is blocking the implementation of the Dayton Agreement and other agreements on the Federation," Seks said after the meeting. Even though a meeting with Ejup Ganic had been duly scheduled, Ganic did not appear, nor was any reason given for his absence. The Croatian parliamentary delegation also met Bosnian Parliament officials. It was agreed that the Federation project had no alternative and that the implementation of the Dayton Agreement was the key to peace and stability in the region. Vice-President of the Croatian Parliament, Vladimir Seks, was also received by President of the Bosnian Presidency Alija Izetbegovic. (hina) mm as 021534 MET may 96
