VITEZ, May 1 (hina) - A Croatian parliamentary delegation today
visited Vitez on their way to Sarajevo to meet Bosnian Parliament
officials. The delegation is led by the President's advisor on
newly-liberated areas, MP Drago Krpina.
The delegation today held a two-hour meeting with the
mayors of Travnik, Novi Travnik, Vitez and Busovaca (towns situated
in the Lasva Valley in central Bosnai).
The hosts stressed the Lasva Valley Croats' commitment to
the establishment of the Bosnian Federation and its close ties to
Croatia. Any delay in achieving this goal meant a further depletion
of central Bosnia's human resources, as the most competent segment
of the workforce emigrated to other countries.
The meeting also stressed the need to ensure the return of
Lasva Valley refugees to their homes.
The hosts urged Croatian companies to increase their
presence in Bosnia, suggesting that the Croatian Chamber of
Commerce open branch offices in Bosnia.
They also urged the Croatian delegation to intercede with
the Moslem partners to show more readiness to cooperate on the
Federation project.
"Instances of terrorism and the prosecution of HVO officers
were giving rise to anxiety among the Croat population," Bosnian
Croat representatives said.
Croatian parliamentarians pledged to discuss these issues
both with Bosnian Parliament officials in Sarajevo and the Croatian
Government.
The Croatian delegation is to visit Usora, Zepce and Vares
on Wednesday and Sarajevo on Thursday.
