MOSTAR, April 25 (Hina) - The advisory council of the European
Union administration of Mostar on Thursday held a closed-door
meeting chaired by the newly-appointed administrator, Ricardo Peres
Casado.
The council comprises five Croats, five Moslems and five
representatives of other nations.
After the talks, EU and Moslem officials declined to make
statements to the press.
Mostar Municipal Council vice president Mile Puljic said that
the meeting focused on elections in Mostar due to be held by the
end of next month.
"The European administration and the Moslem side agree in
demands that the elections be delayed," Puljic said, adding that
the Croat side believed that "the elections must be held until the
end of May."
Speaking of possible reasons for delaying the elections, he
said that "the European administration would lose some powers after
the elections."
The Moslem side demanded that Bosnian refugees around Europe
be allowed to participate in the Mostar elections, "which is not
regulated by the Dayton or Rome agreement," Puljic said.
