ZAGREB, April 18 (Hina) - Malaysian Prime Minister Mohamad
Mahathir told a press conference in Zagreb on Thursday that he
hoped that Malaysia and Croatia would intensify their
cooperation.
Describing his talks with Croatian Prime Minister Zlatko
Matesa as useful, Mahathir said that the two sides shared views
on bilateral issues and the future of the region.
In contacts with Croatian business people, the Malaysian
delegation saw possiblities of boosting economic cooperation in
tourism, banking, joint ventures and automobile exports, he said.
Mahathir said that after this visit he expected trade
between the two countries to increase by more than 200 per cent.
Mahathir added that his country was willing to participate
in reconstruction projects in Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Later on Thursday, the Malaysian prime minister was expected
to be received by Croatian President Franjo Tudjman.
Mahathir was leaving for Sarajevo on Friday.
