TRAVNIK, Apr 14 (Hina) - "The man is the true path of the Catholic
Church and we will never give up treading that path, and no
reproach coming from the Bosnia-Herzegovina's politicians and media
can cause us to falter," Bosnian Archbishop Cardinal Vinko Puljic
told Hina's reporter.
Cardinal Puljic believes the pre-Easter interview by Bosnian
President Alija Izetbegovic did not gladden but instead worry the
Bosnia-Herzegovina Croats.
Msgr.Puljic denied the veracity of Izetbegovic's account
saying he had asked from Catholic Church highest dignitaries to
exercise influence on Herzeg-Bosnia top officials, but the Church,
through mediation of the Bosnian Achbishop, did not respond to the
appeal.
"I have the feeling that the Catholic Church is being ascribed
any kind of nonsense and reproach. So is with the interview you are
mentioning. Sarajevo's 'Oslobodenje' follows the same path. In the
April 12 edition this paper published a very venomous text
repeatedly calling names of Catholic officials. I view this as an
effort to drag us in the daily politics. But daily politics is of
passing character, while our moral principles must outlast and go
beyond daily politics. On the other hand, what the politics has
spoiled it must redo alone, while we shall stick with our view in
supporting the right of man to life, home, family and identity,"
said Cardinal Vinko Puljic.
