"Denmark welcomes Croatia's orientation toward European
associations and has pledged to support Croatia at the next session
of the Parliamentary Assembly," Granic said after the talks.
According to Granic, the one-hour talks were "meaningful, open
and constructive", focusing on the situation in the region and
Croatia's views on the situation in Bosnia-Herzegovina, as well as
Croatia's wish to take part in the implementation of the Dayton
Agreements "together with the European Union."
"The meeting stressed that Croatia could contribute the most
to the peace and stability in the region and the strengthening of
the Bosnian Federation by joining European associations as soon as
possible and taking part in the creation of a joint European policy
toward Bosnia-Herzegovina," Granic said.
The meeting also discussed the reconstruction of war-ravaged
parts of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia, and the upcoming elections
in Bosnia-Herzegovina which are being organised with Denmark's
assistance.
Also present at the meeting were Assistant Economy Minister
Spomenka Cek and Assistant Foreign Ministers Hidajet Biscevic and
Zoran Bosnjak.
Minister Granic is to meet his Danish counterpart Niels Helveg
Petersen this afternoon.
