The two ministers described the relations between the two
countries as very good. Minister Granic invited Minister Alatas to
visit Croatia.
This afternoon, the Croatian foreign minister held a speech at
the Forum for Research and Development of the Indonesian Foreign
Ministry on the development and solution of the crisis in Croatia
and Bosnia-Herzegovina between 1991 and 1996. Granic also spoke
about the current security and economic situation in Croatia.
Minister Granic's aide for economic issues Spomenka Cek met
during the day with the President of the Indonesian Chambers of
Commerce as well as with representatives of the Science Ministry.
One of the main topics at the talks was the cooperation
between Indonesia and Croatian shipbuilding companies.
On Tuesday, Minister Granic is to open the Croatian Embassy in
Jakarta and meet with the Indonesian Parliament Chairman Wahon.
Later in the day, Granic will be received by the Indonesian
President Suharto. After the reception, the Croatian foreign
minister will continue his tour trough South-East Asia by a visit
to Malaysia.
