ZAGREB, Apr 8 (Hina) - Croatian police apprehended in Senj on
Thursday, 4 April, a group of Bosnian citizens on the grounds of
suspect for belonging to a terrorist group which planned a
terrorist act in the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of Interior
informed through a statement on Monday.
According to evidence collected so far, the band members
arrived in Croatia with the weapons they intended to use in a
terrorist action, the statement read.
"We recall that the leaders of thirty countries at the Cairo
conference held in March and attended also by President Clinton,
called for fighting international terrorism and brought measures
for putting an end to all acts of international terrorism," the
statement read.
The statement also said that the services of the Ministry of
the Interior in cooperation with other members of the Croatian
security system would pursue in detecting and preventing all forms
of terrorist acts, in particular those belonging to international
terrorist groups.
"The officials of operational units of the said ministry
continue in the criminal analysis linked to this case and would
give timely information to the public on the course of the
investigation," the statement concluded.
