After he held talks with the Premier of Bosnia-Herzegovina
Hasan Muratovic and the Premier of the Federation of Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Izudin Kapetanovic, Premier Matesa said that they had
discussed all topics that were of mutual interest to both states.
The talks resulted in the signing of agreements which would
regulate railway and road traffic as well as the procedure on
border crossings. The two delegations also signed a memorandum
which is to set guidelines for a joint policy in international
financial institutions, Premier Matesa said.
It was also agreed that expert groups of the two countries
would meet next week and prepare final texts of agreements on the
use of the Ploce port and regulation of property relations. The
Bosnian and Croatian delegations today agreed on principles of the
solution of those problems, Matesa said.
The Bosnian Premier Hasan Muratovic said he was convinced that
all agreements that had been signed today would contribute to the
improvement of economic relations between the two countries. This
would surely help the normalization of relations in the Federation
as well, he added.
The presidents of the Croatian and Bosnian governments
reiterated that the two countries were permanently interested in
the full success of the federal project. Latest problems had not
called into question the implementation of the Federation project,
Premier Matesa said.
It was agreed that highest Bosniac and Croat officials in
Bosnia-Herzegovina should start a dialogue and start solving
problems as soon as possible.
The Bosnian Premier Muratovic said that the latest
misunderstandings about the federal police and the organisation of
Sarajevo were only a 'minor obstacle' which could be solved. He
stressed that those problems in no way endangered relations between
Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
