'We are concerned because the HDZ sees around itself only

'This undemocratic attitude of the HDZ towards its democratic
surroundings would continue to exist', he added.
'More than ever, Croatia's future depends on the creation of a
strong democratic alternative', another high SDP official, Zdravko
Tomac said.
Commenting on the changes of the election law as well as of
the law on local self-government, announced last week by the
Government, Ivica Racan said that it did not surprise him, because
'it is only logical to expect that those who are stating that they
have majority in Zagreb would try to legalize their statements'.
'The HDZ can keep power only by giving up its aggressive
policy and not by adjusting the electoral system to its unrealistic
judgments', Racan said.
