Mayor Brajkovic said that the meeting was very important
because the German parliamentarians had heard the Croat opinion on
recent events in the city. As regards the return of refugees to
Mostar, 'that problem cannot be discussed separately from the
situation in the whole of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina',
Brajkovic said.
There are 400,000 Bosnian refugees in Germany currently.
Kerstin Mueller expressed regret because of recent events in
the city, adding that she 'came to talk with Mayor Brajkovic in
order to get an insight into the local situation'. The situation in
Mostar was the key for the whole region and Europe, Mueller said,
adding she hoped that the situation in the city would improve and
that the Dayton agreements would result in 'a just peace'.
The Green party would intercede with the Bundestag to help the
region and Mostar, Mueller said.
The German parliamentarians will also visit Jajce, Bugojno and
Sarajevo, the report said.
