IFOR representative in Sarajevo, Simon Haselock warned that by
signing the Dayton agreement, all Bosnian parties had pledged
themselves to the reconstruction of the multi-cultural society.

According to UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees) data, the mass exodus of Serbs from Sarajevo suburbs,
especially from Ilidza and Grbavica, was continuing. It was
estimated that out of some 13,000 people currently living in those
suburbs, only several hundred expressed wish to remain there after
the reintegration of the suburbs into the Bosniac-Croat Federation.
UNHCR spokesman Kris Janowski today warned that the burning of
abandoned houses in Sarajevo suburbs continued. According to
international police forces, the number of thefts, especially of
motor vehicles, was increasing in the suburb of Ilidza.
