BOSNIAN SERB ORTHODOX BISHOP VISITS MOSTAR

MOSTAR, March 2 (Hina) - Bosnian Serb Orthodox bishop Atanasije Jeftic on Saturday visited the Moslem-held east part of Mostar where he celebrated Mass in an Orthodox church. After the service, which was attended by about 300 Orthodox faithful, Jeftic met for talks with Moslem mayor Safet Orucevic. In the Croat-controlled west part of the city, Jeftic met Catholic vicar general Luka Pavlovic, EU administrator Hans Koschnik and Municipal Council members led by Mijo Brajkovic. Jeftic asked the Croat authorities to provide a building where Orthodox Serbs could perform religious rites. "We're willing to find such a space," Municipal Council vice president Mile Puljic said, adding that Jeftic said he would help Catholic Croats in the Serb-held town of Trebinje.
