An IFOR spokesman in Sarajevo today said that the chief
commander of IFOR in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Admiral Leighton Smith had
expressed his concerned about Izetbegovic's health. Smith confirmed
that the NATO force in Bosnia was ready to secure any kind of
assistance if necessary. Two Slovene doctors were transported to
Sarajevo by an IFOR plane yesterday.
Out of many offers of help, the doctors from the Sarajevo
clinic chose the one by their Slovene colleagues from Ljubljana
because of the vicinity. The Slovene doctors fully agreed with the
previous treatment of President Izetbegovic.
