Admiral Smith met with the president of the Bosnian Serb
Parliament, Momcilo Krajisnik, in Pale last night. He asked from
Krajisnik to exert his influence over Bosnian Serb military
leadership so that contacts, which are necessary for the
implementation of the peace agreement, could be restored. The IFOR
ground force commander, General Michael Walker, last night met with
General Zdravko Tolimir, Bosnian Serb army commander, and demanded
the same. So far, there have been no signs that the Serbs would
give up the boycott of cooperation with IFOR, but IFOR
representatives expressed hope that the last night's meetings would
help in the establishment of full dialogue and communication
between NATO and Bosnian Serbs.
