BUDAPEST, Feb 23 (Hina) - The Croatian primary and secondary school
in Budapest this morning received a telephone call by an anonymous
caller, saying that an explosive device had been planted in the
school building. #L#
'Mafia will destroy the Croats!' the anonymous caller said in
Hungarian.
The police were informed immediately about the phone call and
the school building was soon emptied and thoroughly searched for
explosive devices by police experts. However, they found nothing
and pupils returned to school in the afternoon. It is still unknown
whether the incident was politically motivated or was an act of a
mentally deranged person.
The head of the Budapest Croatian primary and secondary
school, Marija Polgar-Baronfeld, confirmed the call, but refused to
give any comments.
An official investigation is under way.
