During a long and cordial conversation, the Hungarian
President and Ambassador Skrabalo stressed that there were joint
projects both Croatia and Hungary were highly interested in. Those
projects were the construction of Rijeka-Zagreb-Budapest motorway,
modernisation of railway traffic, the Adriatic pipeline and the
customs free zone in Rijeka port.
President Goencz and Ambassador Skrabalo also discussed the
transitional administration in the Croatian Danubian area as well
as the joint struggle of Vojvodina Croats and Hungarians for
autonomy in the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia.
The two officials agreed that the protection of rights of the
Croat minority in Hungary and Hungarians in Croatia was good.
