MOSTAR, Feb 22 (Hina) - The U.S. ambassador to Bosnia, John
Menzies, visited the southern city of Mostar on Thursday where he
met for talks with the deputy EU administrator of Mostar, Klaus
Metscher, and the mayor of Croat-held west Mostar, Mijo
Brajkovic.
The mayor of Moslem-controlled east Mostar, Safet Orucevic,
had also been invited to the talks at EU headquarters but failed
to show up.
Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Brajkovic announced
more talks with EU administration officials.
He said that the talks with Menzies focused on the
implementation of the Rome agreement. "We are satisfied with the
process of implementing that agreement," he said.
The US ambassador declined to make any comments.
