The Head of the SZH, Zlatko Pavletic, said that the Union
refused to accept the Government's decision to freeze wages,
because railway workers had lowest average wages in public
companies.
The Head of the Croatian Association of Independent Workers'
Unions (SSSH), Dragutin Lesar, also addressed the conference,
stressing that the preparations for the railway workers' strike
were concurrent with the ones of the Croatian Post and
Telecommunications workers, which had been announced for 20
February.
This is a part of "active methods in the union struggle" which
the SSSH meant to carry out this month because the Government had
canceled talks with the Croatian Workers' Union bloc, Lesar said.
