After the meeting, Deputy Labour and Social Welfare Minister
Vera Babic stressed that today's meeting was only one in a new
series of meetings which represented the new attitude of the
Government and the Premier towards social partnership. There were
no greater differences between the unions and the Government as
regards the questions they had discussed. The Premier had been
informed about some peculiarities as regards those questions, Babic
said, adding the talks had also tackled the procedure of collective
negotiations.
Expressing satisfaction with the talks, Ivica Ihas said that
representatives of the unions had informed Premier Matesa about the
difficult position of state employees and warned him that best
personnel were leaving the country.
