MINISTER GRANIC MEETS CHINESE PREMIER

BEIJING, Feb 6 (Hina) - On the second day of his visit to China, the Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic met with the Chinese Premier Li Peng. The Chinese Premier stressed the importance of further development of Chinese-Croatian economic relations. Chinese businessmen are to participate in this year's Zagreb International Autumn Fair. China highly valued Croatia's role in the peace process in former Yugoslavia, Li Peng said, adding that his country wanted to have good relations with all states in the region. Croatia was an important factor in the region, Li Peng said, adding China favoured Croatia's good relations with all permanent member-countries of the Council of Europe. He thanked Croatia for its support for China's territorial integrity and respect for the principle of 'one China'. China supported Croatia's right to peacefully reintegrate the region of eastern Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem, Li Peng said.
