A spokesman for the Hungarian contingent, Major Emil Varadi,
Sunday said that they would build a bridge of 60-ton capacity. He
said Hungarian troops, situated at Pustare near Okucani, would
search for mines on the ground before the construction started. On
Monday, the Hungarian troops, along with British units would seek
mines and sweep them from the area where the bridge should be
built.
Parts of the pontoon bridge have been already transported to
the Hungarian base at Pustare. Varadi added that the had been made
in Russia, and that they were standardized.
Spokesman Varadi pointed to the good cooperation between the
Hungarian contingent and local Croatian authorities.
