ZAGREB, Jan 24 (Hina) - Jozo Rados (Croatian Social-Liberal Party), the candidate of the alliance of seven Opposition parties, was elected Zagreb Mayor at today's session of the Zagreb City Assembly. Rados was elected to the post of
Zagreb Mayor with 33 votes for, 15 votes against and two abstentions.
ZAGREB, Jan 24 (Hina) - Jozo Rados (Croatian Social-Liberal Party),
the candidate of the alliance of seven Opposition parties, was
elected Zagreb Mayor at today's session of the Zagreb City
Assembly. Rados was elected to the post of Zagreb Mayor with 33
votes for, 15 votes against and two abstentions. #L#
Rados thanked the session and called on the councilors who did
not vote for him to show cooperation and fair conduct. Stressing
that he would favour the public nature of the municipal work, the
newly-elected Mayor said that he would try and keep the unity of
the seven Opposition parties, which had proposed him for the post
of Zagreb Mayor.
Zagreb City Assembly Zdravko Tomac said that the decision on
the election of Jozo Rados for the post of Zagreb Mayor would take
effect immediately and be published in the official paper of the
Zagreb County.
