KRESEVO, KISELJAK, central Bosnia, Jan 13 (Hina/Habena) -Bosnian
Serb forces failed to comply with an agreement concerning landmines
at the former confrontation line west of Sarajevo, Bosnian Croat
news agency Habena quoted a French IFOR officer as saying on
Saturday.
They should be held to account, he added. #L#
Albeit the agreement envisaged that the landmines and other
explosive devices should be either defused or reported to the IFOR,
Bosnian Serb forces had left all the mine fields in the area
behind, Captain Laurent told Habena. #L#
The agreement was otherwise set in motion and as of 14:00
hours Saturday not one armed soldier would be present at the
confrontation line. All armed forces would withdraw two kilometers
back from their previous positions, Bosnian Croat (HVO) officers
told Habena.
Only observation posts would be left behind in the vacated
area.
The HVO officers with the Kiseljak Operative Group said they
had finished all the preparations for withdrawal on Friday, meaning
they had withdrawn all weaponry, defused mines and marked those
they could not defuse.
The latter have already been demolished with the IFOR Mt Igman
brigade's help, they added.
The HVO was ready to withdraw on other theaters as well, the
officers said. The north-western Mrkonjic-Jajce line was set to be
shifted on Sunday, the central Bosnian near Zepce on Monday, and
one at the Usora river on Tuesday, Habena said.
