A four-kilometer withdrawal from the present separation lines
should be completed by 19 January, officials in Sarajevo IFOR
headquarters said, adding they expected that the deadline would be
respected.
Spokesman for the NATO Multinational Division for Sector
South-East, Richard Pernod, said that French IFOR soldiers
continued to monitor the withdrawal from around Sarajevo.
The separation of forces is being carried out from the West,
and so far the Bosnian army and Serb forces have completely
withdrawn from separation lines near the suburbs of Mojmilo,
Dobrinja, Ilidza, Vogosca and Rajlovac.
IFOR continued searching for the perpetrator of Tuesday's tram
attack in central Sarajevo, Colonel Pernod said. French soldiers
have found in one of the residential buildings in the Serb-
controlled suburb of Grbavica the barrel of the rocket-launcher the
projectile had been fired from, but they still have not discovered
the attacker.
There are less NATO members on Sarajevo streets than in past
few days. Four armoured vehicles have been positioned around the
'Holiday Inn' Hotel, while the tanks, positioned after the attack,
have been withdrawn.
