ZAGREB, Jan 6 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic is
to visit Belgrade on January 10 to discuss the normalization of
relations between Croatia and Serbia, a government official said
on Friday.
Zvonimir Markovic, head of the Croatian Office in
Balgrade, said in a telephone interview with Croatian television
late Friday night that all preparations for the visit had been
made and that the date could be taken as final.
In response to a question whether Granic would meet
Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, Markovic said that the
issue was still open and that the meeting could be expected.
Granic and Serbian officials would discuss the reopening
of an oil pipeline and the restoration of postal and rail
communications, he said, adding that the Zagreb-Belgrade motorway
was expected to be reopened soon.
Asked whether the Prevlaka peninsula, Croatia's
southernmost tip bordering on Montenegro, would also be on the
agenda, Markovic said that it "may be mentioned in passing but it
will not be the main subject of talks."
The talks would focus on the peaceful reintegration of
the remaining occupied Croatian areas, mutual recognition and
full normalization of relations between Croatia and Serbia, he
added.
