KUPLJENSKO, Jan 6 (Hina) - A Turkish delegation on Saturday
visited a refugee camp at Kupljensko, about 80 km southeast of
Zagreb, where UNHCR officials informed them about the situation
in the camp and number of refugees.
The Turkish delegation was headed by the acting director of
the General Directorate for Security, Cemil Serhadil, and was
accompanied by Croatian Interior Ministry official Franjo
Djurica.
Serhadil told refugees that it would be best for them to
return to their homes in Velika Kladusa, northwestern Bosnia.
Turkey, Bosnia and Croatia were making every effort to
overcome the refugee crisis, he added.
Turkish officials also visited Velika Kladusa where they met
Turkish special police deployed in the area as part of a joint
police force set up by Bosnia, Croatia and Turkey to help in the
repatriation of refugees.
They were informed about the security aspects of return of
refugees to Velika Kladusa and Cazin.
