SARAJEVO, Nov 21 (Hina) - The Sarajevo Catholic Church on Friday
forwarded a formal protest to Sarajevo's "Oslobodjenje" daily
because of its offensive article on Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac.
According to Sarajevo Catholic Press Agency (KTA), the protest
letter said that in an article of 20 November, Fazlija Hebibovic had
written that the "ERO" hotel in Mostar was in the "Cardinal Alojzije
Stepinac Street, a cardinal we have evil memories of".
The letter expressed bitterness that the journalist had been
allowed to offend the religious feelings of Catholics in Bosnia-
Herzegovina with such a description of Cardinal Stepinac.
"We were convinced that the break-down of the socialist regime in
our country forever obliterated the times of unproved accusations
and defilement of people of the church," the protest letter said,
stressing that such writing "did not contribute to the
establishment of trust among members of different peoples and
religions in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
