ZAGREB, Oct 9 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman received
Chinese Deputy Foreign Minister Zhang Deguang in Zagreb on Thursday,
the President's Office said in a statement.
Informing the President about the talks he had held with
Croatian officials, Deguang stressed China's support for the
successful and speedy completion of the process of peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danube region.
Tudjman welcomed the constructive and positive role that
China, as a permanent member of the UN Security Council, played in
solving the crisis in this part of Europe.
Noting the good political relations between the two countries,
Tudjman and Deguang stressed their mutual desire for further
development of economic and cultural cooperation, for which they
said there were many possibilities.
Also attending were Presidential Chief of Staff Hrvoje
Sarinic, Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader and Presidential
Foreign Policy Adviser Neven Madey, the statement concluded.
