GENEVA, Nov 7 (Hina) - Representatives of the office of the UN High
Commissioner for human rights on Friday held a news conference in
Geneva, which focused on monthly reports on human rights in Bosnia-
Herzegovina, Croatia and Yugoslavia.
In its monthly report on Croatia, the office pointed out the
Croatian government's positive activities in the reintegration of
the educational and judicial systems in the Danube river region of
eastern Croatia, and an improved cooperation with the
International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia.
The activities of the National Committee for the restoration of
trust in the Danubian area were also positively assessed, as was the
ratification of the European convention on human rights.
UN officials mentioned remaining land mines, ownership issues and
Serb houses currently occupied by refugees from BH as the principal
obstructions to the return of the Serbs to the Danubian area.
