ZAGREB, Oct, 21 (Hina) - President of the Croatian National
Committee for the implementation of the Trust Establishment
Programme, accelerated return and normalisation of life in war-
ravaged areas of Croatia, Vesna Skare-Ozbolt, on Tuesday received
the UN special human rights rapporteur, Elizabeth Rehn.
Skare-Ozbolt acquainted Rehn with the work and plans of the
National Committee.
She said that local committees would begin to be established in
counties, towns and villages in war-ravaged areas. The committees
would comprise of representatives of local authorities and
minorities, and would function by joint effort to solve problems.
Rehn stressed this was a very big and challenging task, and
expressed satisfaction about the positive progress in the
reintegration of the Croatian Danube river region, as well as about
steps the National Committee meant to undertake.
