ZADAR, 6 Nov (Hina) - Zadar mayor Tomislav Vanjak on Thursday
received representatives of the Organisation for Security and
Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) from Zadar and Gracac (southern
Croatia, Zadar hinterland).
The OSCE representatives informed Vanjak that the OSCE had opened
its office in Gracac, as part of the OSCE mission in Croatia, and
that it planned to open another one in Zadar in the next several
days.
The OSCE mission in Croatia was getting wider, said the OSCE
representatives.
Our task is to help Croatia in the development of democratic
institutions at all levels. The OSCE mission will especially follow
the two-way return of refugees and displaced people, the OSCE
representatives said.
Zadar respects and acts according to Croatian laws. Everybody can
see for themselves that there is neither national nor religious
discrimination in Zadar, Zadar mayor Vanjak said.
'During the Serb aggression on Zadar, a certain number of citizens
of Serb nationality left the town of their own accord. They are now
returning and they live here like all other citizens,' Vanjak
said.
