SARAJEVO, Oct 22 (Hina) - The head of the OSCE (Organisation for
Security and Cooperation in Europe) mission in Bosnia-Herzegovina,
Robert Frowick, and the OSCE electoral department members are
checking the documentation in connection with the holding of the
September municipal elections in Mostar.
A spokesman for the OSCE mission, Johan Verhayden, said in Sarajevo
on Wednesday that Ambassador Frowick consulted with Bosnian Croat
and Moslem representatives on this issues, but added that this act
did not mean the re-counting of voters' ballots.
On 10 October, the provisional electoral commission carried out
technical confirmation of election results for all six
municipalities of Mostar and for the Mostar city council, Verhayden
said adding that after that parties which participated in the
election demanded further explanation about the distributions of
the seats at the city council.
The OSCE spokesman said that this organisation, in cooperation with
Martin Garrod, the head of the Mostar-based regional office of the
international High Representative, would continue talks with the
Federation's officials in order to ensure the complete
implementation of the interim statute of this southern city.
On Tuesday, OSCE published unofficial results of the 13-14
September elections for the Mostar town council. According to the
unofficial data, the coalition for the integral and democratic
Bosnia, led by the (Moslem) Party of the Democratic Action, or SDA,
won 15 seats, whereas the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia-
Herzegovina (HDZ B-H) got nine seats.
