The talks stressed a mutual wish for improving economic and
cultural ties. The two officials agreed on an exchange of inter-
parliamentary delegations in 1998 and journalists' visits.
Borjesson stressed Croatia's importance for the stability
of South-East Europe at the times when problems in that restive
region were being solved, and agreed that Croatia needed
financial and political support so that it could successfully
carry its role.
